The Science Accelerating Girls' Engagement in STEM (SAGE) Summer Camp is a one-week program aiming to encourage Northern California high school students to explore a wide range of possibilities in STEM fields. The program is hosted by National Laboratory scientists and engineers with the goal of engaging intelligent, creative, and passionate young women and other marginalized genders to become a part of the STEM community. Throughout the week, students will participate in job shadowing, hands-on projects, professional development, and more, to learn about the STEM community, explore and balance their interests, and meet women in STEM at various stages of their career. The program is sponsored by several DOE National Labs and aims to foster innovation, grow the STEM community, and empower underrepresented students in STEM.

The Experiences in Research (EinR) internship program is designed for high school students in Northern California who are interested in developing their skills and gaining hands-on experience in STEM fields. The program offers paid internships lasting six weeks during the summer, where interns work on cutting-edge projects with professionals at Berkeley Lab. The projects cover various aspects of STEM professions, such as administration, data science, experimental research, and more. Students will be able to express their interests and project preferences during the application process to develop skills in their preferred field. The program is only open to current 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students with experience in independent work. Interns will work approximately 20 hours a week and will receive a stipend. Applications typically open in early February and close in early April.

This summer program provides a one-on-one mentorship with health care providers and researchers, along with access to unique workshops, seminars, trainings, simulations, and networking opportunities. The overall goal of the program is to stimulate interest in health sciences for under-represented students, arming them with professional skills and confidence, thereby improving their likelihood of success in STEM careers.
Interns will work with The Department of Police Accountability. Task will include reviewing and analyzing body-worn camera footage; researching local, state, and federal laws to inform policy proposals;
developing department-wide policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws; and aiding DPA attorneys in all stages of trial preparation (including sentencing and appeals).

The program is unpaid, and the student must be eligible to receive college credit for completing the internship. Interns work with their Field Supervisors to determine goals and expectations and required to complete a project. Since its inception in 2004, over 900 students have participated in Hawaii Pacific Health's, Health Careers Summer Internship. This 6 week, paid internship program is designed to provide high school juniors, seniors and college students a rare opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the health care industry. Interns have the opportunity to learn more about hospital systems, interact with experienced health care professionals, and explore a variety of different health care professions. Internships are offered at Hawaii Pacific Health and our network of medical centers in Hawaii, including Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Pali Momi Medical Center, Straub Medical Center, Wilcox Medical Center, and Kauai Medical Clinic.
