The Mini-Veterinary School is a five-week series of lectures by the most accomplished and dynamic veterinary professionals. For two hours, they will lead you on a fascinating journey of discovery. Each lecture will be a "course" in a subject covered in veterinary school. Graduates will not be eligible to practice veterinary medicine, but will have a better understanding of their pets' health! They will, however, receive a certificate attesting to the completion of 10 hours of veterinary science.
The Sugar Land SciTeen Program supports science education at the museum by enhancing our visitors’ experience through teen led interactive demonstrations and presentations to engage visitors of all ages. During the summer, SciTeens learn skills that can enhance future resumes, applications, and careers; and enjoy learning and forming friendships with other teens who have interests in diverse areas of natural science.

Congressman Joaquin Castro provides internship opportunities to high schoolers in his San Antonio office. Interns are asked to assist with a variety of tasks, including day-to-day office work, answering phones, writing letters, and conducting research. Interns may also assist with constituent casework and support district-based projects.

The Saper Law Immersion Program was founded in 2013 by Daliah Saper, Principal Attorney at Saper Law Offices. While originally intended for recent law school graduates, the program has evolved into a week-long camp that exposes high school and college students to the legal profession. The course takes place at Saper Law Offices and is taught by Daliah Saper and other Saper Law attorneys. The curriculum consists of negotiation and writing exercises, field trips, and mock legal proceedings. Since Saper Law practices heavily in the areas of social media and digital technology, a key component of the exercises will involve entertainment, business, and internet related legal case studies.

The OCFA Fire Cadet Program offers a ten-week Fire Cadet Trainee Academy that covers basic level skills. Trainees will attend nine weeks of entry-level classes at Fire Cadet Posts and take a final exam during week ten at OCFA Headquarters. Upon successful completion, participants become full members of the program and are ride-along certified. Prospective Fire Cadets can apply by filling out an interest form and will be contacted to complete a detailed application, including a current report card. The Fire Cadet Trainee Academies are held twice a year, and candidates over 18 must complete a background check.

Summer High School Academic Program for Engineers (SHAPE)

Columbia Engineering's Summer High School Academic Program for Engineers (SHAPE) is a selective pre-college program for rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and recent high school graduates. SHAPE is geared toward students with an aptitude for STEM: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The Attorney General serves as Connecticut’s chief legal officer for civil matters, and the OAG serves as legal counsel to all state agencies. Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions open to graduate and law students, paralegal, undergraduate, and highly motivated high-school students.
Our office offers a limited number of fall, spring, and summer internships for high school and college students, as well as recent college graduates. Internships are in Senator Booker’s Washington, D.C., Newark, New Jersey, and Camden, New Jersey offices and provide an excellent way to learn first-hand how Congress works.
Rising high school seniors interested in biomedical, bioengineering, and health-oriented professions will want to check out this competitive summer internship. Participants are instructed in basic lab techniques and undertake a research project led by a scientist or graduate student. At the end of the program, students present their research, some of which may contribute to research publications.
In the summer of 2023, we will offer both in-person and online versions of the 2-week Summer Residential Program. The in-person and online programs will run concurrently from June 11-24 (Session 1) and again from July 9-22 (Session 2). Students at the Summer Residential Program will spend 2 weeks deeply immersed in the art and craft of creative writing. Each student will take one core course for the duration of the session. The core courses are taught by graduates of the renowned Iowa Writers' Workshop. Students may select a core course in fiction writing, poetry writing, or creative writing (which includes some combination of fiction, poetry, and personal essay). We also offer core courses in TV writing and playwriting. Students will share their writing with teachers and peers, receive constructive critique, and participate in writing exercises and activities. To supplement the core courses, we'll also offer readings by exciting published writers; workshops on process and aspects of craft; discussions on writing-adjacent subjects (literary translation, film, revision, mental health); collaborative projects to allow small groups of students to work together; as well as open mics, talent shows, icebreakers, and social gatherings designed to give students the opportunity to connect with one another.
The Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program is designed to provide opportunities for high school-aged students to increase their leadership skills by sharing their passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the natural world with younger campers. LITs will assist camp staff in providing a safe, caring, and exciting experience for campers while being exposed to careers in the fields of education, biology, ecology, and natural resources.
