Internships for high schoolers

Students will participate in Team Building, Leadership Military Bearing, Defensive Driving, Dynamic Crime Scene ,Investigation, Self-Defense, Physical Training, Firearm Safety and Training, K9 Demonstration, Commercial Motor Vehicle Scenario, Tour of the Capitol, History and Job Opportunities with the Colorado State Patrol.

Teen volunteers work in many hospital departments and support fundraising events. Your work means our team members can accomplish other tasks, so the hospital can run more smoothly and have a bigger impact. As a teen, you can connect with kids and other teens in the hospital on a unique level. From doing a craft project with children to staffing an event, you’re making a real difference in the lives of kids and families.

Youth Conservation Corps members work in a healthful outdoor setting on a variety of projects including building trails, maintaining fences, cleaning up campgrounds, improving wildlife habitat, environmental education planning and teaching, stream restoration, historic building preservation, and more! You'll also participate in educational field trips where chances are you'll see wildlife or history before your eyes, hike and stand on a mountaintop, or gaze at an ancient ruin.

The Customer Service Intern assists with various administrative tasks; assists with processing transactions; and performs other essential duties as deemed necessary.

The job shadowing program at Arkansas Children's for high school students offers an online training education course and shadowing experience for individuals interested in learning about a specific area in health care. Students will be able to indicate their area of interest on the job shadowing application, and we will do our best to match the student. Students will have the opportunity to experience the hospital setting as well as some of the duties performed by the health care worker for 1-3 days; however, students will not be permitted to take part in direct patient care.

The Mayor's Youth Advisory Commission (MYAC) advises the Mayor and City Council on youth issues and disseminates information regarding youth issues. MYAC also promotes youth education on citizen input, participation, and responsibility in City government. MYAC selects qualified and interested individuals from each of the City's middle and high schools for Commission vacancies and forwards those names to the Mayor and City Council.

Mayo Clinic offers a summer volunteer program for high school students, allowing them to volunteer at clinics and hospitals.

Volunteering at Arizona Science Center doesn't require a science background. The Center's volunteer program offers various service projects that align with their mission of inspiring, educating, and engaging people of all ages in science. They are looking for enthusiastic and sociable volunteers to help with hands-on exhibits and activities during regular business hours, evenings, and weekends.

Founded in 2012, Urban Ecology Teen Internship (Urban Eco-Teens) is a paid internship for high school students that prepares them for college, stewardship, and natural resource management professions. All interns work, in Van Cortlandt Park, alongside horticulturists and natural areas restoration staff from Van Cortlandt Park and NYC Parks. Interns learn about local flora and fauna, complete labs, go on nature-focused field trips, and explore green career opportunities with natural resource professionals.

The summer internship program provides paid, part-time internships for middle and high school students across San Antonio to build career opportunities and goals. Family Service partners with a variety of organizations within various industries to pair every person with the right organization for them.

The City and County of San Francisco offers various internships and summer programs for high school students through several departments and programs (Airport, City Attorney, Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, Department of Elections, District Attorney, General Services Adminstration, Office of Economic Workforce Development, Public Utilities Commission, Opportunities for All [San Francisco Students Only], and Public Works)

National security is our business. We apply science to help detect, repel, defeat, or mitigate threats. Sandia welcomes student interns – from those in their final years of high school, to undergraduates, to researchers obtaining PhDs. As an intern, you will work on real-world, challenging projects that contribute to Sandia’s mission.

The Art Speak internship is a paid ten-month experience that runs from August to May. It provides unique opportunities and career training for public high school students in grades 10–12. Interns discover Asian art and cultural traditions, learn from local artists and arts organizations, engage in social justice and youth activism, conduct informational interviews with museum staff to explore careers in the arts, and develop their leadership skills by creating and facilitating hands-on art activities.

NASA Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM) paid internships allow high school and college-level students to contribute to agency projects under the guidance of a NASA mentor.

The Attorney General serves as Connecticut’s chief legal officer for civil matters, and the OAG serves as legal counsel to all state agencies. Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions open to graduate and law students, paralegal, undergraduate, and highly motivated high-school students.

The Volunteer Department at The Hospital of Central Connecticut is excited to provide a Summer Experience for high school students 14 years of age.

Jerome Home and Arbor Rose welcome high school students at least 16 years old and college students who are seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the health care field. Focus areas of service include undergraduate students in human services, social work, recreation therapy and music therapy.

The Museum maintains a successful internship program for high school and college students throughout Fairfield County. Every year LMMM receives many requests for internships and the Museum’s staff and volunteer educators provide their time, guidance, and training in museum administration and education to help them acquire important skills for the future.

Jobs are difficult for anyone to get, but for a high school student, working in the corporate sector seems like a far-fetched dream. However, the Mayor’s Youth Employment Program makes that dream a reality for junior and senior high school students from the City of Stamford. The students get access to paid employment in the corporate, private, or non-profit sector. In addition to the job, the students get guidance and training from government employees.

The CT Summer Youth Employment Program is intended to provide early work experiences for young people ages 14-21 that may not otherwise have this opportunity. There are limited opportunities available in the summer youth program. Please note that completing this application does not guarantee a placement.
