About the role
The Young Scholars Program (YSP) at Northeastern University offers Massachusetts residents entering their senior year of high school the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in science and engineering. YSP participants will conduct laboratory research with faculty from Northeastern's Colleges of Engineering, Science, and Health Sciences, with topics ranging from exploring active particles in flow to evaluating new cancer therapies. In addition to research, participants will attend seminars and workshops on engineering, education/career counseling, and college life, and have the opportunity to visit corporate and government sites to observe engineers in action. Eligible students from all types of schools are encouraged to apply, with priority given to those with low access to similar programs and who live within commuting distance to Northeastern. Applications for the free program open in January for the following summer, with results posted in April.
