About the role
The Summer Research Internship is a fully virtual, project-based program for students interested in exploring how AI is developed, evaluated, and applied in healthcare. Students work in small teams on a project using clinical data to build an AI model, supported by instruction and mentorship from Stanford researchers and students. The program emphasizes research thinking, collaboration, and responsible innovation. Internship students will: - Learn core concepts in AI and machine learning - Explore real-world applications of AI in health and medicine - Work collaboratively on a guided research project - Receive mentorship and feedback throughout the program - Present their work at the conclusion of the internship The internship program is ideal for students who: - Have prior coding experience - Want a deeper, project-based learning experience - Are interested in how AI is developed and evaluated in healthcare
