About the role
The Office of Workforce Development Student Training Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute provides young people from the Boston public school system with professional experience in health care. The program is offered both as an academic-year commitment and a summer opportunity, during which participating students intern in a hospital department aligned with their interests and experiences. Through the program, students gain valuable professional and personal skills, while developing positive community relationships through mentorship, student retreats, and college tours. These are paid opportunities, and graduating seniors are also eligible to apply for scholarship funding. The program has both summer and academic year commitments with specific requirements. Eligible students include those with a minimum GPA of 2.0, good attendance records, and affiliation with selected Boston schools or organizations. The program has received positive feedback from both students and supervisors.
