About the role
The Science Squad internship program at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is designed to provide teens with an opportunity to develop soft skills such as communication, leadership, and job readiness, which are valuable for any future job. As part of the program, volunteers will engage visitors in interactive science activities at the museum, and receive training on different topics each week. The internship has three sessions: Spring, Summer, and Fall, and continuing volunteers have the opportunity to mentor new volunteers and work on expanding their science communication skills by creating their own demonstrations or short videos. The program aims to inspire curiosity in science while providing an enriching experience for teenage volunteers.
