About the role
The Teaching Assistant Program at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art is a volunteer opportunity for 15-18-year-olds who are interested in art and/or working with children. The program provides young artists with professional skills in art-making and art education. The TAs assist Teaching Artists in the classroom, prepare materials, and help children with hands-on art-making. The program is a competitive one and includes an orientation and mentoring by a Teaching Artist. Teaching Assistants walk away with new art techniques, teaching skills, a solid relationship with the Museum, and more. The program runs during the summer, from June 12 to August 4.
