About the role
The Intern Project is a program offered by the LA Promise Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing students in Los Angeles for success in college, career, and life. The program places high school students from Los Angeles County in paid internships with dynamic employers, giving them an opportunity to grow, build connections and gain exposure to a variety of industries. The goal of the program is to provide students with work-based learning experiences, which research shows can lead to attending college and earning a degree. The program has placed over 490 students, with 100% of them headed to college and 95% of them being students of color. The Intern Project also serves as a talent pipeline for businesses to invest in and generate social impact while building a diverse future talent. The program is supported by donors and sponsors, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Walt Disney Company.
