About the role
The LA County Department of Public Health offers two ambassador programs: Parent and Student. These programs aim to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other emerging viruses by training community members to become ambassadors for public health. The virtual training sessions, which are offered in both English and Spanish, cover topics such as COVID-19 and emergent virus prevention and mitigation, mental health and self-care support, access to vaccinations, wellness clinics, virtual mindfulness applications, and youth substance abuse prevention. By becoming certified ambassadors, community members can share the knowledge and resources they've gained with their peers to promote community health and wellness.
