About the role
The Raleigh Summer Youth Employment Program is a summer work program for teenagers aged 15 to 18 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The program is designed to help young people develop workforce skills, gain experience, and prepare for future employment. Participants work for the City of Raleigh for six weeks, from late June to early August, attending mandatory training and orientation sessions beforehand. In addition to working, participants benefit from skill-building and training sessions, as well as networking opportunities. Requirements for participation include living within Raleigh city limits, being available to work during the program's duration, attending orientation and training sessions, and having an NC State Issued ID or other documentation showing residency. The program is committed to the health and safety of participants and staff, and asks for full Covid-19 vaccination for in-person work or hybrid work. Virtual work is an option for those who only wish to work remotely.
