About the role
The Research Mentorship Program is a competitive summer program offered by the University of California, Santa Barbara that engages highly accomplished high school students from around the world in hands-on, interdisciplinary university-level research. The program runs from June 20 to August 4, 2023, and students are required to attend the virtual component from June 20-23, 2023. Students are paired with a mentor (graduate student, postdoc, or faculty) and choose a research project from a wide range of disciplines offered by the program each year. Along with a deep relationship with their mentor and insight into professional research-based opportunities, students learn about research techniques and mature their academic goals. The GRIT talks lecture series connects students to some of the best minds among the UC Santa Barbara research community presenting their groundbreaking research and innovative technology. Additionally, students are immersed in university life and network with equally curious and ambitious peers.
